Wellness in Community is an open house dedicated to showcasing the many diverse wellness-focused businesses in the historic Montgomery Ward building. There will be chair massages, yoga demonstrations, delicious food and so much more! Here at Homespun, located in the basement level of the building, we'll be offering a full afternoon of events that you won't want to miss:

At 1:30pm, local gardener, dyer and all-around fiber expert Jody Frey will be giving a half-hour talk entitled "Happy Where We Are," exploring the idea that creative practice isn’t only about knitting hats, but also growing our own wellness, happiness and contentment.

From 2:30pm to 4pm, I'd be delighted to have you join me in interactive fiber demonstrations to learn how spinning, weaving and other fiber crafts have been used to bridge differences, strengthen connections and build community throughout history. You can try out a variety of spindles and fiber tools, spin some yarn with me and listen to me spin a few yarns at the same time!

We'll also be working on a community scarf all afternoon. Please drop in to knit or crochet a row (or more!) on the scarf - a variety of knitting needles, crochet hooks and yarn will be provided to accommodate any level of expertise or creative vision. Let's pool our collective experience to make something beautiful together as a community!
